1 of 5

Tonight was the first of 5 performances Wasatch Ballet  companies are doing in the next 2 weeks.  I took a ton of very blurry pictures but hopefully by the last performance I'll get a couple of good ones.  All the companies did really good and it was so fun watching.  Emily did great!!

Photo shoot

Here's a couple of pictures that Melanie took of Emily up in the mountains.  I think she took over 200 pics.  Lots of balancing on uneven surfaces and lots of mud........and laughing.    :)  But they had a fun time.
Before the pictures the two of them went to the mall to shop.  Both of them got some fun clothes and shoes and then went out to lunch.  It's great that they got to spend some fun time together!!!  Thanks Melanie!!

Lots of pictures

Melanie has been taking lots of pics but I've been able to sneak a couple of her that I've taken.  This is one of her when we went up to Sundance.  Then all of us went to Mama Chu's for lunch.  A very yummy lunch!!!

I also got her and Lesa yesterday.  The rest of these pics were taken yesterday.

This is "Uncle Jaron Time."  :)

Book Signing

Tonight we (Melanie, Jaron, Christopher and I) went to a book signing for the sci-fi conference in Provo.  I love the book Dispirited by Luisa M. Perkins.  It was great to meet her and have her sign a couple of books.
Steve kept busy signing books too.  It was really crowded so we didn't stay very long but glad I went.

He's off.

Today Melanie and I dropped Brody off at the MTC.  He will be there for 2 weeks and then he'll be off to Denver, Colorado.  They flew in yesterday afternoon.  He's going to do great out there.  Now I'll have a week of playing with my sister.   Have fun and enjoy your mission, Brody!  We're all proud of you!!!   :)

Survived.....barely!

I was born with a weak stomach.  Always had problems with it since I was little so I was concerned about having a colonoscopy.  But I knew I'd have to get it done.  I'm 51 1/2 so I'd better get my butt in there.  Hahaha!!  After witnessing what Steve went through I was pretty nervous about it.  Yesterday I started the liquid diet.  By 8am I knew I was going to have a very hard time.  My stomach was already cramping and rebelling against the jello.  I survived the day with my stomach constantly hurting.  At 6pm was when I was to start taking the meds to totally cleanse you out.  It did that along with a lining of my stomach.....at least thats what it felt like.  And you can't throw it up.  A big no-no!!!  My 2nd dose was at 4am.  I gag it down the best I could in between dry heaving.  Didn't sleep the rest of the night.  My stomach was constantly hurting....a searing pain.  This morning Steve drove me the hospital.  Steve is trying to drive as careful as he can cuz I'm about to lose it.  We get there and checked in.  I get hooked up and tell them that anesthesia makes me really nauseas (not like I wasn't already).  They reassured me that this wouldn't.  I just wanted to go under right away cuz my was stomach hurting so bad.  Next thing I remember is a bag being pushed to my face and I'm getting sick all over myself.  I guess I slept through some of it.  I got an anti-nausea shot and that seemed to help.  I have to say that the whole experience was pure and utter hell.  I would never wish this on my worse enemies.  I know it is needed and would do it again to make sure I don't have cancer but it was horrible.  And it has a lot to do with my bad stomach.  I got a clean bill of health and they told me I don't need to go back for 10 years.  I figure it will take me 10 years to get over the trauma (extreme pain) I went through.  :)

ps.  I had an incredibly great nurse.

January coupons and pics of Darci's birthday. :)

For January I saved $167.32. Lots of great coupons came out in January and some thing I got for almost free......chapstick, paper towels, toothpaste and dishwasher soap. I also bought a bunch of hamburger helper for Jaron for 16 cents each. That's a cheap way to feed a student. :) Plus there were lots of great deals on food with coupons for the superbowl. So now we'll see what February brings. :)
Here are some of the pictures from Darci's 1st birthday party.  We so wish we could have gone but it looks like she had a great time celebrating.  We love you so much Darci!!!!

Slides from the Olden Days: Family

I found a large case with slides I'd taken with my old 35ml camera. So I thought I would but them here for the fun of it!

Happy 1st Birthday Darci!!

This cute little girl is 1 today.  She is so sweet and good natured.......and has lots of energy!  :)

She has such a beautiful smile too.  It was so fun seeing her and her family over Christmas.
I love and miss you so much Darci.  I hope you have a wonderful birthday and I'll be thinking about you all day.
