Power point

Last night I did my very first power point presentation ever. I got lots of good advice and I stuck to simple. I was kinda nervous but decided that I wanted to be one of the first to go to get it over with and then be able to enjoy every one else's presentations. We had 4 mins to give it. The first girl went up and she had lots of writing on hers and took about 10 mins. I went second. I'd say I took 4 mins and only used bullet points and pictures. I did more talking than reading off the screen. There was a whole wide range of what people did and I was amazed. They were all done really good. I'm just glad I got it done early cuz I think I may have freaked out more if I was towards the end wondering if I did it right. So glad that's over with but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and.....I got a "A" on it. So a great night! And thanks Steve for helping me get my pictures on and the bullet points!!!!
Earlier in the day I went over to drop the swing over the Christopher and Lesa's. Of course I had to stay over for a little bit and hang out with Maddox and Asher. Asher had his eyes open for quite a bit. He's a very calm and relaxed baby....very cute and cuddly. Maddox says, "Cheese" and that means for me to get the camera out. I take pictures and then he likes to look at the pics. I took. He's a fun little guy!!

I love going over and seeing these guys! Oh....and Christopher and Lesa too. :)

Early spring

Yesterday the groundhog didn't see his shadow. I don't remember the last time that has ever happened. And I hope he's right and spring does come early. With taking this landscape design class all I want to do is get my hands dirty and start chopping things down and planting things. I have 3 trees that I want out. Fortunately the snow was kind enough to start getting one of them down.....at least 1/3 of the tree is laying on the ground. But I'm sure by the end of the semester my ideas for the yard will have changed some with the more I learn. I do hope though that spring does come early for everyone and we can clear out the air in our homes and the awful virus that have plagued us this winter and get some natural vitamin D.
And Emily said that she sees the beginning of the tulips and daffodils coming up in her garden...yeah!!!

ps. for an update on my savings with coupons.....for the month of Jan. I saved $44.25. I know it's not a ton but there's only 3 of us here so I'm not buying as much food as when there was 7. My food bill has gone down drastically but I will keep the $44. :)

Ballet shoes

Yesterday I plunked down $75 for some new pointe shoes for Emily. I am pretty naive about how often I need to buy these for her. Her first pair lasted a year. These lasted 5 months. I thought for sure they would last at least 9 months. But since she is on them a lot..... if they last 4 months we're lucky. I don't mind though cuz she really enjoys dancing. I keep reminding her though that she should feel lucky cuz if she was born around the same time as her brothers that there would be no way we could afford this. But since she's the baby and 6 1/2 years between her and Nathan......we can do this. Emily will be performing on pointe next month. I can't wait!!
You can see her old shoes. The picture doesn'tdo it justice cuz the actual toe of one of the shoes broke.
BTW.....I got all my homework done!!!!

Nathan's email

Hey Mommers,
Sorry I wasn't able to write yesterday. but im writing today so hopefully that makes up for it. So how are things going? it sounds like everything is going good!! That's pretty cool that you may get chickens.. Kinda weird but hey... we could barbecue one when I get home.. haha.. just kidding... but seriously.. So things here are going good. not too much happened except that we had district meeting and president interviews this week which went really good. we were in Tampere and got to see the new chapel.. Which is really cool.. If i were you i would go look it up on the Internet cuz its pretty sweet.. but yeah that was really cool.. hmm... not too much else happened.. We've got splits here in Pori this week and we have a DA with all 4 of us with the coolest Member in Pori. Shes super cool, pretty much the whole DA she just makes fun of us and its just super fun, so it will be fun to have that with the elders from Rauma too. so yeah should be fun. Welp I do believe that's everything....................
....................... <-DOTS.... COOOOOOOL... anyway... I love and miss you a TON!!! Take care.

Hey Papa Smurf,

So how is everything going, Its sounds like you UVU thing went well! that's pretty cool that you showed Buffy.. haha.. awesome!!!

So we usually get about 2 DA's a week.. give or take.. this week we actually have 4 which is pretty cool. Mostly what people eat her in Finland is meat and potatoes.. and they eat a lot of it.. haha.. So.. Finnish cuisine I would have to go with Moose, if anything.. which i have ahd once and it was really good.. and there are a lot of middle eastern places.. Every kebab shop is owned by a Turk.. and theirs a lot of kebab shops.. haha..

So things here are good and the weather has been really warm.. but apparently this is how the winters are usually here in Pori because they are by the ocean and the warm current kinda keeps them pretty warm.. so its not too bad here.. but its still really humid so it feels a lot colder than it really is.. Well I think that's about all so take care!! I love and miss you!!

Updated pics. of Asher

Asher is 2 weeks old. I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks but he seems to change and fill out more and more every time I see him. He is such a cute little guy!
Steve....being goofy as usual. :)

Christopher and Lesa got a piano from someone in her family. I think Maddox thinks it's a new toy for him. He had fun playing on it.....and eating cookies at the same time.

Homework

Here is some of the homework I had to do for class (2 of 5 papers). Don't be impressed cuz I'm sure I did some of this wrong. Like last week.....I did totally wrong. How I know this is that we had to hang up our work in front of the class and mine was the only one that was the wrong size and very different. But that's ok. Part of learning right? But I do enjoy this class and it is a lot of fun. We'll see how it goes tonight. :)
But there was tons of measuring outside and then scaling it down onto paper. Lots of erasing and redrawing.
And here is my mad scientist daughter. She rocks!!
