The La Sals

Last Friday week we left to go to the La Sals to the Hawks' cabin for a few days. It was so fun seeing them and it was also nice to leave the Internet and cell phones behind......no service there :)
This is a pic. of Steve standing by a pine tree that grew out of the rock. Weird but very interesting. Jaylyn saw it several times before so we had to stop and see if it really did.....and it did.

The girls (me, Jaylyn, Emily and Jenna) went for a walk down a dirt road that forked a couple of times. The guys said they would pick us up in the car at the end of the road but we didn't think they'd know what direction we'd gone so we made a couple of arrows out of pine cones. Come to find out....they never noticed them. Oh well.
Steve needed a "specimen" of the tree branch for a book he's writing. Jaron and Steve lifted Emily up to grab one. One of her more graceful moments :)
One the way home we stopped at Arches National Park. A very beautiful area!!!

Thank you Steve and Jaylyn for letting us come down and invade your cabin. We all had a blast!!!!
