Cousin Water Fun

The cousins (grandkids) got together today and played in the pool.  It was so fun watching them!!  Got Emily in one of the pictures too as she was hurrying past them.

Lots of splashing and getting wet.  All of us got pretty wet from them.  :)

Two Birthdays

Happy Birthday to 2 people that I love so, so much.  First my sweet daughter Emily.  The picture on top was taken when she was 2 yrs old when we were living in Hawaii.  And now.....She's 17.  I wonder where time went.  She is a beautiful person inside and out and I couldn't be more proud of her!!!!
When Emily turned 12, my grandson Kingston was born.  He can brighten up a room and get everyone laughing.  He is a sweetheart through and through and I'm so glad I am his grandma!!  Just sort of a funny thing.  Timothy was 12 when Emily was born and Emily was 12 when Kingston was born.  I thought that was cool.  I love you both so much!!!!!!

yellowstone

Steve and I's annual trip this year was to Jackson Hole/ Grand Tetons/Yellowstone.  We left early Tuesday morning after we dropped Emily off.  We got to Jackson Hole and dropped all our stuff off at our B&B/lodge, ate and headed towards the Tetons.  They are absolutely gorgeous!!!!!

We hiked around part of Jenny lake.  Then back to Jackson Hole for dinner.
Jackson Hole has a thing for antlers.  They are everywhere!!!!
This was our breakfast the first morning we were there.  There was so much food and it all tasted so good!!!
Then we spent the day in Yellowstone.  This little guy was not very shy of people.  We first saw Old Faithful.
There was a 2nd geyser going off in the background.  It almost looked more interesting than Old Faithful.  After it went off we walked around the park to see all the cool stuff.

The heat that comes off of these is so hot!!!

Then we went to the Grand Prismatic Spring.  I read up that this is one of the 10 things in the US that you need to see in your lifetime.....and I see why.  Pictures doesn't even do it justice.

It was so beautiful and there was a lot of heat coming off of it.

We also saw lots of animals....antelope, elk........

And a bison crossing the road.  He didn't need to look for cars.  Everyone stopped for him.  It was so cool to watch!!!

There were lots of bison around.
After a long day in Yellowstone we stopped at this kinda coral-like restaurant.  It was all outside and everything was cooked in huge cast iron pots.  And it was all you can eat.  It was the best food we had tasted in a long time!
Then this little critter was on our windshield.  I zoomed up really close to it.  It looks pretty disgusting but maybe cuz it is.  This insect is whats killing the trees.  There are so many dead tree everywhere we went.  With the earth warming up they don't get killed off in the winter so they are spreading like wild fire out there.  It's really sad to see so many dead trees.
Oh.....and this a picture of part of our room.  We had such a blast that both of us were kinda sad coming home.  Seriously, we need more of these trips.  :)
