Work Parties

Steve's work Christmas party was tonight. This is how I feel about them.....Ugh.....every year it's the same thing. A bunch a people get together, talk about work, eat ham, people sing....go home.

This is the 9th one we have gone to and I'm still not quite sure why they keep doing the same thing year after year. As I was looking around at all the tables.....some of the people were talking to each other and then others......no talking, just sitting there eating.
It was pretty dead.

This is how I feel when it's finally over!!! But I have to say....the choir was good.
Next year I may just stay home in my pajamas and read a good book.

Lookin' Good

We went missionary suit shopping yesterday and these are the two Nathan picked out. The darker, light pin stripped suit is made from mostly wool to help keep him warm from the Arctic air. I have to say that Nathan really shines up good!!!! He also got white shirts, 2 pairs of shoes and 5 ties......so far. There's tons more he still needs.
I had fun and I think Nathan did too. I'll have to ask Steve if he did but I think he did.
Afterwards we went out to lunch........good memories!!!!

Lots of Birds and cute little Kingston

Nathan and I were just hanging out at home and we heard some loud noises outside. In the back yard there were hundreds of these black birds in our apple trees. They were very loud!!! I told Nathan NOT to open the door or they'll come in and poke our eyes out!! Ok.....he puts up with a lot with my weird humor.

But we do have 7-8 inches or snow back there.....pretty cool!!

Jess put this cute picture of Kingston on their blog.....man, he's cute!!! Do you think he looks like a newsie or a golfer?
I think he just looks cute!!
Kingston is almost 5 months old. It's amazing...I remember planting flowers for him last summer and look at how beautiful and healthy he is!! He is a blessing!!!!!

And one more thing..... I got to chat with Jaron for an hour yesterday and that made my day!!!!

Decorating the tree

Last night, since we were all together and "Amazing Race" hadn't started yet, we decorated the tree.

Steve loves his ornaments and every year he gets at least one or two new ones. They usually are Star Trek, Star Wars or alien in nature. Sometimes he will get one that's not space related but not very often. So here is his new one.

Question: How many Peck men does it take to put a battery in a Christmas ornament?

Answer: I'm not sure but I know it's more than 3.

Maddox enjoyed watching the whole thing. Next year he can help putting them on.

Walking to church

Steve and I walk to church almost every week. We don't miss unless we are sick or it's pouring down rain......otherwise we walk.

We really got hooked into walking since living in Vienna. There, we would walk a half mile to the bus and then walk to church from the stop. It would take us 45 mins. to get there and then another 45 mins. back. So church really took up a lot of our day living there.

Today it was snowing so we caught snowflakes on our tongues.

Nathan and Emily walked to the car. They're not so interested in walking with their mom and dad.

And here is some of the riff-raff we see on the way home. We have to give Ty and Nicole a hard time.....they're family!!!

Moving Slowly

Yesterday I finally put up the tree. As you can see there is only lights on it. The rest of the decorations will be done next week. Christmas is just weird this year. I think cuz Jaron coming home so late and our Christmas isn't till the 31st. So I've been pretty laid back this year. I have to say that it's really nice.

I have been slowly working on Jaron's room (aka...storage room) and hauled a bunch of stuff to DI. There was a "dinosaur" tv down there....the kind without a remote. Remember those days? I took it all to DI and they told me they didn't want the tv because it was too old even though it worked.

The weeks and day seem to fly by right now. Does it seem like that to anyone else?

Children of Eden

Last night the 4 of us went to see the BYU production of "Children of Eden." They did an excellent job with the singing, dancing and acting. The guy who wrote the music for "Wicked" also wrote it for "Children of Eden"......so you know the music was good. I was very impressed by the whole performance and all of us had a great time. But..........

I just have to make one comment. When we went into the performance room, stage, whatever it's called, there was light smoke. I'm not sure what it was but I think it was to give it atmosphere. And it did look cool but OMG, it irritated my nose and throat the whole time. I was coughing most of the way home. Everyone else seemed to be fine but this morning even Steve is feeling some of the effects from it. I'm not exactly sure what it was but it wasn't a fog machine.

I have to say though the whole performance was great and I highly recommend it!!!!
