26th Anniversay!!

Yesterday was Steve and I's 26th wedding anniversary. Emily woke us up in the morning with breakfast in bed. I wish I took a pic. but I didn't have my camera with me but we did take a pic. of the huge card she made us.
We went out to Chilis for lunch and ate a ton. To top off the day we watched "Twilight." Steve has never seen the movie and to tell you the truth I really didn't like it much so Steve had very low expectations. Maybe because it was built up so much when I went and saw it is why I didn't care for it. But Steve thought it wasn't that bad. He's never read the books though.

Steve and I do have a lot of fun together. It's been and exciting and adventurous 26 years and am looking forward to many more!!!

Tulip Festival

First, let me just say that it was freezing and windy out when they these girls performed. They had their skimpy leotards on and the cold wind was whipping around them but they did so good.

The girls waiting for the performance to begin. Here are some pictures of Emily dancing. You can tell by the smile on her face she loves to dance!!!

Emily was so grateful that Grandma and Grandpa Peck came to see her perform. It really made her day. Emily's BIG recital is in June.

Finally....spring

Christopher came over this morning with 2 electric guitars and an amp. Him and Nathan decided to try it out in the backyard. It was really loud and sounded nothing like guitar hero.
Emily and I worked in the garden and planted lots of vegetables. It's so nice to have the sun out and to be outside. I just hope this stays! Steve and Emily just left to go see Wicked so Emily is going to blog in the next couple of days on how much she LOVED it!!

Spring break....so far....

This is what we have been doing quite a bit of during this break.

Emily has been watching movies...in bed, Nathan has been on xbox, I'm vegging at the computer and it's been snowing.

But in between all of this Nathan has been doing 4 hours of school work every day, Emily has been playing with friends and I've been going to the gym. The sleeping in has been great though!

Easter day

To start our Easter off we had a Passover dinner with Steve and Jill Waters and Jan. We went to Sam Hawks and had Korean. It was a fun way to start Easter off fun.......with friend who are really family!!!!

The Easter bunny was good to all of us delivering tons of chocolate and candy. Steve said the we needed some "Easter Bonnets" to wear so this is what we came up with. So not to embarrass the kids we didn't wear these to church. I was a little disappointed at church though because none of the talks were on the resurrection or anything about the topic.....bummer.

When we got home we dyed eggs and Steve soaked up some sun. Emily and I thought it would be fun to do some sword fighting. The guys always do it so why not us. The only difference is that whenever Emily or I hit each other we would give each other a kiss. You would NEVER see the guys do that but we had fun battling.

After Emily and I were done Steve and Nathan had at it. We ate tons of ham, potatoes, chocolate and sugary stuff. Till next year.....

Killer Deal

Steve and I went out today just to price a new chair for him in the front room. His is at least 10 years old and looks 20 years. We looked at a couple of places but couldn't find any that he really liked. Then we went to Bassett Furniture. ......just to look. They had a black leather chair that they are discontinuing. It was originally $1600 and were selling them for $500. (Gotta love tax return!)

So we bought it. It was delivered tonight and about a half hour before it came 4 of Nathan's friends came over to play Halo. All the guys unloaded it for us and Steve loves it!! Now he wants to get more furniture to replace what we have so it will match his chair.....ha ha!! Maybe within the next 10 years!!!
