Lobster Fishing

 Lobster fishing is huge in Maine.  On one of our tours the guide said that the fisherman have their own places where they catch lobster.  If anyone gets in their space to catch lobsters it can get pretty heated.  He said last year 2 boats were burned from other fisherman getting in their space.

 This is the trip we took on the mail ferry to big and little Cranberry Island.  In the picture you can see that floaty thing.  It's a lobster trap and the ocean is littered with them.  They're different colors depending on the fisherman catching them.

 They island is full of stacked lobster traps everywhere.

 This is one of the lobster boats.  We had lunch on the dock and most of the time we just watched them sort out the lobsters.  The ones they kept they put in a bigger container but the ones that they couldn't they would throw over back in the ocean.  It was so fun to watch.
