Cider

A couple of days ago our neighbors, Brian and Annie asked if we had a cider press. They have 7 apple trees full of apples and wanted to make cider with them. So we decided on today.......even though our trees didn't produce much of anything this year.
One of the slats on the press was broken into many pieces so I took the measurements and made a new one for today.  The one I made is on the right (above) and Steve said it worked really good when we made the cider.  Yeah!!
Asher taste testing the apples before they were made into cider.
Maddox loved putting the apples in.
Steve and Brian
We got it down to a system.......everyone rotating every now and then.

Nathan and his MTC companion, Vanhin (Brian) Mortensen.  Yeah they did help and relaxed in between.  :)

My happy children.  :)
Maddox and Asher had fun in the cooler full of water once the apples were out of it.  The Irwin's brought over 3 HUGE coolers of apples and we made probably around 12+ gallons of cider.  It was delicious!!
Afterwards we also did a toast to my Grandad Awbrey........who press it use to be.  Great memories Grandad!!!
