Tulip Festival

My friend Tina and I went to Thanksgiving Point to see the Tulip Festival. These are just a few of the pictures I took. We spent almost 3 hours there and then went to lunch. I need more flowers! And it was a blast!!!

Saturday

Steve has been gone for over a week now.  He made it through his meeting that were monday-friday.  He's now in Worcester visiting with a friend and his family and from what I hear he's having a blast.  He said that he'll do a huge blog on his trip with lots of pictures when he gets home.  I'm picking him up from the airport wednesday night.  I watched Maddox and Asher this last week.  Poor Christopher and Lesa have been sick with a really bad cold bug.  Really bad timing since it's the end of school and finals are coming.

Cute Darci!!!  Today in the mail Kingston sent us some beautiful drawings to Steve, Emily and I.  I have to say that he is an excellent drawer and really good at writing his letters!!  Way to go Kingston!!! And thank you so much!!

 I love all of Kingston's faces.  He really reminds me of Timothy at that age.  :)  Maddox hurt his eye....scraped his eyeball so he has medicine on it.  Poor little guy.

I took this picture today of some of the tulips that are blooming in Emily's garden.  They are beautiful and there are some that haven't opened up yet.  I love this time of year!!!

Basement

 The last 2 days I have when working on the basement.  Steve is out of town so what a better time to do this.  Plus it's been raining and snowing so I can't work in the yard.  I painted the walls a light grey color and rearranged the bookshelves and futon.  The space is small anyway so I can't be too creative but I do like it a lot better.  And all the books are accounted for.  :)

Today is Jessica's birthday and it had me thinking about my wonderful daughter-in-laws.  I have to say that both Jessica and Lesa are two amazing women.  As a mom, I wondered who my boys would marry in their future and if they would be happy.  Timothy and Christopher married great women who I know they love and adore so much.  So I want to thank them for the wonderful women and loving moms they are.  I appreciate you both so much!!!!

And a picture of the first tulip to bloom in Emily's secret garden.  I can't wait til the rest of them are blooming.  Steve left today for England.  I have a lot of projects I want to do while he's gone but I guess we'll see what I can get done.  I would LOVE to get everything done but I think that would be a fantasy.  :)

Coupons and Garden

I saved $86.70 in coupons for March.  Pretty good I guess.  :)  Today we got 4 cubic yards of dirt dumped in our driveway.  Heather and I went in together to get topsoil for our gardens.  When the dirt people dumped it off I thought what a small pile of dirt.  Then we started moving it to the backyard.  It took 3.5 hours to get 2 cubic yards back there.  It's a lot more than it looks.  Grateful Nathan and Emily helped me out.  I think all of us are going to be sore in the morning.  But I got both of the raised beds filled and some in the tomato garden.

Emily planted a bunch of strawberry plants in the holes of the cinder blocks in one of the raised bed and I transplanted some herbs in the holes of the other raised bed.  I think it's going to look pretty.  I am dead tired!!

Garden

Look at whats coming up.......peas!  A whole line of them.  That's about the only thing coming up since that's the only thing planted.  Except the onion that went to seed last year.  They're coming up too.  I love this time of year!!

Festival of Colors

Last Saturday Nathan and some of his friends went to the Hare Krishna Hindu Temple for the festival of colors.  He had a blast.......as you can tell.  :)
