Fun Sunday

I love surprises!! So when Russ, Cristy, Luke and Lacy knocked on the door yesterday afternoon.......I knew we were going to have a fun time!!! Christopher, Lesa and Maddox came over to so we got the hamburgers on the grill.
The guys got the swords out.
And we also passed Maddox around.
He is such a sweet little guy. He's so happy and content most of the time.
He is so, so cute!! I can't get enough of him!!

WATERFALLS

After sitting through 3 hours of church we needed to get the circulation going again. So we decide to hike to the falls.

It wasn't that long of a hike but well worth it.

We took lots of fun pictures and then Steve got a little wild.
Steve wanted to go IN the waterfalls.
So here is the picture to prove that he went in. Crazy guy!! But it was tons of fun. It reminded me of when it was the 4 of us going on adventures when we lived in Vienna.
On the way down the trail we planned our trip to Italy. All the places we'd go to and the things we'd see. Now if only Steve could get a business trip there!!

Our Garden

One passion I have is gardening.......even weeding. I know it probably sounds insane but I do love to weed. And I think the reason why, is that it's a time where I can turn my music up loud (sorry neighbors) and think. I can be out there thinking (weeding ) for hours. You'd think the garden is pretty weed-free but with all the rain I have a hard time keeping up. Our garden doesn't look like much. Everything is scattered from one side to the other. No organization at all but it still seems to thrive. Maybe it's a reflection of my life......not really organized but not taken over by weeds.
I've got green peppers ( they look real cute when they're little) and there are tons of tomatoes all over the plants. I need lots of these for salsa!!!
Also peas and green beans. I also planted 10 zucchini plants and 12 pumpkins plants. Why I did that?......I have no idea. It sounded good at the time but just as a warning...don't leave your car doors unlocked in August or I may be depositing zucchini in your back seat.

"34"

I love this weekly ritual of planting flowers and blogging about how my little grandson is still growing and developing normally and healthily inside his mommy's tummy.
The garden is getting so full that I'm thinking of expanding it. I think it's a great excuse to make it bigger and Nathan would love it cuz it would be less grass for him to mow. Emily would love it cuz it would mean more flowers in her "secret garden." I would just love it!!! Maybe next week I will pull out some grass to make way for lots more flowers!!

A Man and His Hammock......and a Diet Coke

For Father's Day this year I bought Steve a new hammock. The old one was sooooo worn out and every time you went to lay in it your butt would drag on the ground. Way too many years of wear and tear and multiple kids laying in it. The whole time Steve was thinking that I was going to get him a motorcycle. Like I could afford one but knowing Steve......I don't know about him and a motorcycle together.......even with a helmet. A hammock seemed a lot safer. So today, Nathan and Steve got the hammock up...now that the sun has finally appeared.
Nathan had to try it out but in the end Steve has dibs on it. He's still there!!
Happy Father's Day Sweetie!! I love you!!

Lori runs the 5k

Today Lori ran in the Pleasant Grove, Strawberry Days 5K run! She had practiced for weeks at the rec-center on the treadmill, but this was her very first race and run on the road.

She was very nervous and wondered if she could do it. But she was determined!

She lined up with the crowd

Which was very large. (She is invisable behind someone).

But she did it! She ran up major hills and over pavement like she never had before. She looked like a pro coming into the finishing gate!

A famous rock star / Santa Clause patted her on the back for her great time (37 min)!

We are all so proud of her. It was not easy and she did it. She really did it!

A whopping 33 weeks

Emily's garden got an addition today...... Yep, Jess is 33 weeks. It's almost like the garden is expecting a new flower each week and I am happy to plant one. While I plant it I think of Kingston and how one day I can show him all the flowers we planted for him. It will be very full by the time he is born!!

The Finale

Emily is on the right side in the black and white tutu. After a while you can't till which one she is because there are so many of them.

Storm dance.

The dances I recorded of Emily's recital were during the dress rehearsal. So they may not look the best but it gives you an idea.....

Thanks for Coming!!

Emily's dance recital finished last night and I just want to thank everyone who came and all the well wishes she got from family and friends. It really made her happy and loved all the support. She did an incredible job!!
After her performance, Steve gave her flowers.......which she very much deserved!
And after last performance last night we all went out to Artic Circle. I think it was the hang out place for a lot of dancers. There were dancers there from Lone Peak HS and different areas. Who would have though.
Congrats Em!!! We are all so proud of you!!!
