Ribs

Saturday morning Steve left for France to attend a "bug" meeting. Monday morning he decide to take a run on a trail by the river. As he was running he tripped over a root and crashed to the ground. I'm not exactly sure of the sequences but I think he got back to the hotel and one of the "bug" guys took him to ER. He had 8 x-rays taken. Steve was wondering how much this was going to cost and the people at ER said that he has to pay the whole bill up front but they would tell him how much it is when he's done. Steve is kinda sweating it. He finds out that he broke 2 ribs and he gets 2 presciptions. The total?....under $200 in US currency and he was there under 2 hours. Steve is pretty sore but he said the meds. work pretty good. He said he slept pretty good last night but was up a lot. But it was better than he thought.
So far the bills from our ER visit from his bee attack haven't all come in. I had to plop down $100 when I walked in the door. We got one doctor bill so far and that was over $500 before insurance. We haven't gotten the ambulance, hospital or the food we ate there bill yet. Something is very wrong with our medical system.
