German by Emily

German is a hard language. It’s so hard to do it every day. My dad so good at German. Nathan just barely learning . I’m teaching my mom to speak German. I am in the middle. There’s a lot of the’s in German. There’s die[dee] der[dare] das[d-us] dem [dem] den [den]. It’s hard to know what the goes with a sentence . That's hard.

Dear Emily,
Don't be discouraged with learning German. Any new language is hard. I think you are going to be the best in your family at German by the time you move back to Utah. It is true that your Dad is good at German now (he did get a B+ in it after all). But by the time you move back you'll be thinking in German all the time and you'll be correcting your father on which "the" to use when asking to pass the wienerschnitzel and you'll realize why he got a B+ and not an A in his class. My guess is that you will be the only A in your family (Nathan will probably be an A-).
P.S. Don't tell your Dad why I think he didn't get an A -- a B+ is pretty good for him.
